The most important thing I realized is that painful breakups, unrequited love, shitty jobs and the like help us to BUILD CHARACTER and that no matter how bad it feels, we are much better off because of it. Sometimes you have to stand alone to make sure you can. Forget what you want to remember what you deserve. You may not end up where you thought you'd be, but you'll always end up where you were meant to be. You can either let these bad things, define you, destroy you or strengthen you. Fight through it like a warrior. Greater things are to come.

fffound

This year July has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays. This happens once every 823 years. This is called money bags. So copy this and money will arrive within 4 days. Based on Chinese Feng Shui, the one who does not copy, will be without money. Figured I'd pass this on!

hey why not. only a reblog. i need the money. hahah

Opt out

geez even a 6th grader is going to a party

When you're poor, you tend to miss out on a lot of stuff.

i.e. why i am at home and not out like everyone else, on a night that starts Easter long weekend.

Sad face.

i think l'll be opt-ing out on many things this summer. That's until i get a final decision on whether i will be receiving E.I. (Which is looking grim) or find a FT job. Either or.

Triple million sad faces.

Just submitted my Employment Insurance application.

Please pray i get approved and receive decent "benefits" :((((

Making myself egg benedicts tomorrow because i'm too cheap to go to Milestones. And not desperate enough to go by myself. Only bEcause evrybody i know works full-time and can't have breakfast with me!!!! hahah

Random side note away from delicious eggs.

I attended my first "low intensity" Muaythai/Kickboxing class with the cousin. For a "low intensity" class tonight, it was pretty intense- which i loved. Kettlebell for half an hour tomorrow but i think im going to be pwned by that again like on Monday.

Overall I'm loving it! I feel so much power when i wrap my hands with those boxer hand wraps. GIGGLE GIGGLE.

Lets aim for that toned body for the August "Camping" Trip that is growing by the second!!!

But back to the original post. Please please please pray for meeee. LET THERE BE BENEFITS!!! SOBSX

i wanna nappp

....so badly but i have soo much to do. Blogging is actually one of my to dos so i thought l'll get it out of the way before i fall asleep at the keyboard.

As i mentioned in my last entry, there's lots of ummm i suppose "exciting" stuff going on. Lots of changes and things I am doing to keep myself busy.

First off yesterday, bright and early K came to get me so we can go meet S for her Florist consultation and then wedding dress hunting.

I like this pic of us

It was my first time going to any type of wedding-related appointments so for me being the obsessively weird- was completely ecstatic. I had a really good time and look forward to the weekend when she makes her final decision on the dress and cupcake testing. In the...7 hours (was it?) it was crazy how much i learned about what was involved in planning a wedding. I mean I knew that the amount of work and time that needs to be put into a wedding is outrageous but there was so much more to it. Mainly it was more like "industry" fyi-s that i picked it which was pretty awesome for what I am currently doing and deciding whether to pursue.

During the florist consultation, I was sitting there listening to S discuss what she wanted with the florist and as I sat watching the florist go through the details and her list of questions, i found myself completely submerged into the subject of weddings and inspired by the passion the florist women has for doing what she loves. This was also the same feeling I had when I was explaining how the "Invitation Design" process works for another girl.

I have always loved the subject of Weddings. I try not to bring that up to too many people (especially the male ones) because it scares potential mates (from experience). I think people can tell that I have a passion for this subject. Whether its for my own (even though whether if i am goinna get married is questionable and fuzzy at the moment lol) or others- I love everything about it including the mechanics and logistics involved in putting it all together. That said with no job lined up, lots of free time, two Wedding Invite jobs and a Wedding PLANNING job that I believe I am going to commit myself to....I think I am going to try and explore the Wedding Planning/Event Planning and Wedding Invitation route. Esthetically I believe I have the eye for pretty things, I have the interpersonal skills to work with people (im too nice and a big sap. brides love that), and i think i'm pretty organized and methodical to execute things...seeing im pretty anal when it comes to details and scheduling.

SOOOOOOO if i became a wedding planner/wedding invite designer- would you people refer me? lol

I have a zillion things to do for this. Aside from quoting these brides to-be, i have to get a site up so i can grab two more potential brides-to-be's attention. Then l'll be set for the summer until the fall. I'm praying to god that my application for E.I. will be approved because first, I need money. From now on i must be extremely conservative with my spendings. [ Went shopping yesterday. Terrible of me. ] because im still paying bills. Second if i do get approved, I'm going to save up to enroll in a winter course for Event Planning/Wedding Planning of some sort. I mean if I am going to be serious about it, i should put a little investment into getting certified and doing it the professional way. Basically E.I will be used for the following:

  • More schooling (fak)
  • Bills (Cell, Dad, Insurance, Gym)
  • Savings
  • Laser Printer/21"+ Monitor/New Laptop/Business-Related Equipment
  • Whatever that is left is for the spending =[
On that note, i've also taken up a side creative project with Junior. (Yeah MORE things to do). Mostly I am doing this for him as a favor because he's like a little brother to me but also for the exposure and portfolio building experience that is involved. Won't get into details but those who knows should know that he's busy over his head and im proud that he's accomplished so much to date.

Anyways random thoughts:

  • I'm getting pudgy again.
The cousin has been on intense, hardcore Beast Mode for the past 2 weeks and i think it is time for me to rejoin her. I've been out of it for about 3 months now and i don't think my metabolism is holding up anymore. She's such a great source of motivation and so extremely informative (lol). We also have the same mentality on why we want to change our "lifestyle" and that's always good to have someone that is on the same mind set as you. At the very least she would understand what i am going through. That said, this week begins Kickboxing- two times a week. And its going to be the actual Muay Thai, wrapping your fingers and knuckles stuff. I don't believe its going to be anything like Body Combat. I wonder if my nails will get ruined in the process....haha. Less eating of course, Moderate eating on junk (as always....i don't believe in cutting stuff out. that's just lying to yourself) and start on my cup of oatmeal breakfasts again.
    - I think my goal is to trim to waist area by August (for CAMP MODE!!) and to be...possibly 1.5-2 sizes smaller by November. I'll consider that a birthday gift for myself lol Though im skeptical on that b/c im currently munching on fried yam cakes my mom made.
  • Watched Splice last night
That was the most fucked up movie i've EVER watched. Aside from the fact its my third weekend in a row that i've been supporting the Cinema Industry (argh)....i can't believe what happens in the movie. I don't even care if i spoil it for anyone but basically it involves a far too long scene of Hybrid Sex (erm like...Humans and Hybrid) and Hybrid RAPE (Hybrid on Human). Dot dot dot. Yeah. DISTURBED?!? I still am.
  • Vampire Diaries Update
To those that care haha I am on episode 18. I am four away from finishing Season 1 and have I mentioned....that I am completely, irresistibly in love with Damon Salvatore? Yeah. I want to box him, take him home and do things to him. mmmmmmmmm haha.
  • Must make a trip downtown (sometime this week) to see J (for freebies) and J (for tablet).
  • On Repeat: Lihium-Evanescence && Hey Daddy-Usher,
  • World Cup, FIFA 2010
I don't know if its the men, the sport (that i actually enjoyed playing when i was YOUNGER haaa), the excitement or all of the above- but i am freaking excited. Gotta make plans with Tall J to go watch it at a bar. We're really hoping for a ENG vs PORTUGAL game again. This time around she won't be half way around the world lol && we can excitedly watch it together over lots of alcohol. I'm also a huge England fan (like every other ASIAN). I remember that particular game 4 yrs ago (ENG vs PORTUGAL) i cried at the end of the game when they lost and couldn't make it to semi-finals. It's pretty sad but i am very loyal to them. haha

I was/am absolutely in LOVE with Michael Owen (age 30 haha). I remember my obsession with the guy during FIFA 2006 and during one of the games (could have also been the Portugal/Eng game) 51 seconds into the game he gets taken out and i distinctively remember EVERYBODY on msn, messaging me telling me he's down. haha sighs. Its such a shame that him along with Beckham is not playing in the tournament this year. Here's a good article about their absence. Link

Sighs England doesn't stand a chance.

Ok one more time. I can't get enough of his face.

    GAH. <3!!!!!!!!!!! HEHEHEHEH
Damn i did well today (with the blogging).
Okkay. Time to do work and load CUBA PICS.!!!!!~

2009 Wrap-Up - Long and Boring

I know l'll be writing this post in pieces, hopefully it won't be too too choppy. At first I As tradition goes, ever since December 31st, 2005 over at dorkus_x@xanga, i've been typing up my reflections on my year and what i have learned in that year. Half a decade has past since then and now here I am typing up my first new years wrapup on blogspot. I was really debating how i should type this up but i think for the sake of my disorganized blogging tendencies i think l'll just do sections versus something else I had in mind.

On an overall note, i felt like 2009 was the year that I learned the most about myself and also the year that opened my mind up the most. I would say it was a good year- though i do hope very much that 2010 would be better for me financially and physically. As I get older, I don’t expect much so as the same as 2009, I don’t expect very much from 2010 because we are all going downhill. Haha

That said, 2010 marks a new decade. Ten whole years since 2000 when i was fourteen-ish and we all prepared for the MILLENNIUM. I can't even recall half the things i did and experienced in all that time. As sad as this may sound, but i doubt l'll ever experience the same excitement and drama that i went through in the past ten years in the coming ten years. I guess it will be different experiences but surely it won't be the same as highschool, GRADUATING from highschool (the worst commencement ever. i deliberately missed mine), my drunken drinking machine youth, entering GCM, graduating university, all the people i have met, wanted to kill, loved, meeting the mister, first graduate job, etc. In the next ten years i can only see bills and more bills for me haha.

And just a random FYI. 2010 was also the year Lisa Simpson got married in the 1995 episode.

ISNT THAT SO SO WEIRD!!!!!!....We’re SOOOO OLDDD.
Haha. Thought I would share that interesting point. Lol

Anyways now the fun stuff. I spent NYE with the mister’s sister and his brother-in-law and their cousins/brothers/friends, playing poker. It was a little weird at first because they're all MARRIED but thnx god they're fun people and didn’t make a big deal at the fact that I was the youngest, non-married person there. The original plan was to go watch Avatar in IMAX 3D but due to ridiculous circumstances we opted out for last minute poker instead lol I am having GREAT feelings about 2010 though because that same day (on NYE) I found 15 bucks cash at loblaws while shopping with the mister’s sister and won the bigger portion of the pot at Poker (it was my first time playing on my own with MINIMAL assistance from lx) and it was SUCH an awesome way to end 2009 and start 2010. Lets hope this lucky streak continues for the rest of the year.

Here are some of the New Years Resolutions that I realllllly hope to keep (again) but are most likely doomed according to statistics.

Career/Design
All my life I have always been the one that believes in working hard for a salary and coming home with stable income. This was very much heavily influenced by my dad whom I believe is the most hard working man I know. Nobody works harder than him to provide income for the family. This year because of the recession and the automotive industry downfall, both my parents lost their job and money definitely became a number 1 concern for all of us. I have seen him work labour intensive jobs over the past half year, watch him come home with sore knuckles and knees, putting his hands in medicine water in the evening to prevent shaking and to only watch him repeat all of that the next day because he refuses to put the burden on anyone else. I won’t talk about my job situation here in risk of compromising my current role but those whom ive talked to should understand why I need to stay even though....i should really leave. At the same time of course, after briefly sharing why I believe in working hard for a stable income, this year also made me realized how important it is to be ambitious and how critical it is to have passion in the work you are doing. Since I’m a heavy believer in just “making money”, I never really shared the same vision as the mister did when it came to “starting my own business”, or waiting out for the job that gives you “the” drive. I confess that for the longest time i’ve always felt like he was wasting his time when I believed making mediocore money is more practical than dreaming of big money. I am guilty of being complete narrow-minded (please forgive me!!!!!) until one morning when I woke up to go to work I felt no drive. I felt empty and the worst part was, I couldn’t design anything decent anymore. That scared me a lot because design to me is everything in my life. And then everything somehow clicked one night when lx and I talked well past 2am about what was really bothering me and what was making me change. All the past discussions lx and I had on goals, money and career, all the stuff that never got through to me somehow just made complete sense. I finally understand that it really isnt all about the money. Its about fulfilling yourself and doing what you love and for me its design...anddddd some other stuff that im not going to bring up. Most importantly though, I finally understood where he was coming from, why he has these plans and why he believes so strongly in certain things. I think its really hard for people to understand which is why I don’t expect anyone to. As long as I am able to understand myself, I believe the path would be a lot more clear......not to sound religious or anything like that.

In conclusion for 2010,
  • I got to get my website up and going (I totally ditched that)
  • Really reflect and figure out what I want to do in life and find direction
Because its not even about money anymore...even though it probably is but for the sake of sounding less greedy, lets say its not.
  • Find a more steady job
  • Start financing, build a portfolio and save up for my dream.

Physical/Fitness/Appearance
This is on every girls’ resolution list and most of us fall off of it in the second day haha That said though I still gotta try and at least blog it down to remind myself that I did at the very least attempted to begin a more healthy lifestyle. I joined Goodlife fitness in July/August-ish and was doing rather great until I fell sick, and got my hives (TWICE) and work became insane and that’s when I stopped for three months. Gonna start up again with the following resolutionsssss:

  • Find a sport that the mister and I can play and not be lazy about it
  • Grow my hair longgggg.
I am 4.5” away from my goal.
  • Take care of my skin
Meaning no picking at pimples, lots and lots of green tea and water to keep myself hydrated)
  • Lose weight
No number in mind. Just an overall difference and so I don’t feel so ugly in pics (noticed I don’t load pics anymore cuz I tend to go on a pics hiatus when im fat) and i also have five dresses i bought that i cannot wear with my current body size.
  • Get back into my fitness regime
Working out 3 times a week, strength train, cardio and hot yoga twice a week. any1 care to join me let me know!!! K and i are on this regime until S's wedding haha
  • Go get my Physical test that ive over-procrastinate about
  • Eat more fruits and make an effort to make sure every cooked meal has some kind of vegetable I can eat (even if it means yams everyday)

THINGS I WANNA DO/ACCOMPLISH/LEARN THIS YEAR:
  • G2 G2 G2 G2 G2 G2
  • PASSPORT PASSPORT PASSPORT
  • Indoor Volleyball with the kids
  • Outdoor Paintballing with the kids
  • Cottege Cottege
  • NYC NYC NYC
  • Learn how to contour my face (haha sounds wrong) & how to use bronzer PROPERLY
  • Bake more
  • Complete my DIY Projects
  • Get my Full Set of Contacts for the year
  • SWIMMING SWIMMING
  • SNOWBOARD SNOWBOARD (not this season but the upcoming winter season cuz I don’t have gear and the mister and i r gonna go hunting for CHEAP CHEAP gear once the season is over in March-ish.)
  • Finish my room reno by Summer 2010

I started this entry at work a few weeks before Christmas time, then christmas came and this completely went cold. Then I started up again at Starbucks while the mister is working but that failed on me too because I was in a really comfortable sofa chair and watching dramas while sipping on a nice grande Caramel Apple Spice (with whip and explosion of caramel sauce) and seemed more like the appropriate thing to do than to blog. Finally now im back and finishing this up at work.....heh. I guess that’s all? I KNOW I will be triple editing/adding onto this through-out the day.

Happy New Years to the people that come by my blog. Lots of thanks =] and wishing you guys the best of everything.

This is why I want to work for big name corporations like Ernst&Young

Today i went and got Part 3 0f 3 Cavity Fillings appointments scheduled for me because i have SO many cavities they werent able to eliminate them in one go. Akemo must be so disappointed in me. In total, i paid 1300 dollars to get my teeth to be squeaky clean....with only 600 of it covered by insurance. sighs. Do the math, it equals to A DENT IN MY WALLETT. Which is why the lesson here is: work for a company that has a GOOD DENTAL BENEFITS PACKAGE. or ANY GOOOD benefits package to say the least. Or invest in one. Omg i need a freaking benefits package.

Moving on.

Then, i stepped next door to where i normally get my glasses to ask them about how the rates for contact lenses work. Because i have realtively a little bit excessive money (for the next 3 days anyways), i figured now is the time to attempt to be different by looking like an alien (that wears metal retainers. yes! i have new awkward retainers) and try out contact lenses. Anyways so it will cost me a bill-ish for 2 boxes....i dont have a clue whether thats reasonable or not, i gotta ask the mister for advice. I proceed on to ask her how much would COLOR contacts cost because i wanna be a colored-eye alien. She asked me some questions about how bad were my eyes and whether i have some sort of condition (light reflective or something technical like that) and i wasnt really able to answer because i didnt have a clue and told her i have a "file" with them. She asked for my name, I replied and for a good ten seconds i thought she was about to get up to grab it when she sat down quite quickly and answered in chinese:

No. Your case is too extreme. They dont make color contacts for cases like yours.

sobs = (

So apparently my case is so unique that she remembers my name. Or maybe im the only file under the "EXTREME CASES" cabinet. Either way it sucks to be almost legally blind with some sort of lights-reflective condition (!???!) . Normally i would be pretty insulted and insist that they check but knowing that my eyes are pretty bad i totally accepted it and just said, "Aw" while she frowned at me. She looked very unhappy.

double sobs = (((((((

Sucks to have cavity-proned teeth and bad eyes.

Other random bits on my agenda
- I officially dont have a convocation dress anymore because the people forgot to ship it on the plane! ha ha ha
- I officially start assisting in paying mortgage bills and OSAP starting July. ha ha ha
-I'm starting to take up an interest in really expensive Asian-brand skin care products. Right when i gotta start forking up 60% of my pay cheque. ha ha ha
- My nails r chipping. ha ha haaaaa

It hasnt been a good day/night.
Lets hope chicken wings tmr and migration to the misters for the next couple of days will make me happier.

Material-Whore

I suddenly feel the urge to blog about what are some of the wants, on my shopping list. I am so excited about back to school shoppping. Which is why I absolutely must trim my size down a digit or two to wow everyone at gcm on September 2 [ which is so not happening, but its always nice to fantasize ].

I am suddenly totally inspired by the whole vintage, classy look that only really super slim, tall girls [ie. Tall jenn] can pull off. I need to drop my "must shop only for work clothes" stance, to "back to school chic" mode.

Scarves. I need more. I need more bold colors, I need patterned ones and more squared ones. I think people should know that if they are EVER stumped on gift ideas, they should just get me a scarf.

- Jeans. I need another pair of jeans. I think im gonna go for grey this time.
- Shoes. I really want new flats, but that’s clearly not happening because the flats I desire are so damn expensive.
- Accessories. Must expand collectionnn
- Sunglasses. I gotta figure out how im gonna do this sunglasses thing, seeing I am practically legally blind and designer-sunglasses doesn’t do perscripted lenses. : (
- A clutch. I need one so badly. Been procrastinating for the longest time. Im at a point where I cant wait to go to the US to get a cheap COACH one, but run to the eaton centre and purchase it for full price.
- Another nice big hobo bag would be nice...but I have too many already.
- A TNA hoodie in another color would be nice, not necessary though
- A dark grey winter jacket. Im so ahead of myself but I really want a new winter jacket. My black JACOBS one is looking mistreated.

- etc etc etc. Whatever that’s cute! I need back to school clothesss!

Im praying that OUP will keep me as a part-time after internship. Not only do I enjoy the work, I really would like the extra cash to support my new-found vision of making myself materialistically-pretty and addiction to starbucks.
