The most important thing I realized is that painful breakups, unrequited love, shitty jobs and the like help us to BUILD CHARACTER and that no matter how bad it feels, we are much better off because of it. Sometimes you have to stand alone to make sure you can. Forget what you want to remember what you deserve. You may not end up where you thought you'd be, but you'll always end up where you were meant to be. You can either let these bad things, define you, destroy you or strengthen you. Fight through it like a warrior. Greater things are to come.

Procrastination

Originally today i was planning on spending the entire day cleaning up and organizing my clothes. The plan was for me to get up, head out to Starbucks to buy myself two Starbucks (Yesh. Two, not one. I need it for the entire day), then watch True Blood, Hells Kitchen and TVB Dramas to get myself through the day. I'm not allowed to listen to music because music provokes emotion and not allowed to watch fireworks because that too, provokes emotions.

But everything go went wrongggggggg.

I did not have the metro pass to go do my SB run and i didnt want to waste 6 bucks of tokens to do the run. My bandwidth did not support me to do all my downloads thus nothing to watch and there is something seriously wrong with the speakers on my laptop so i couldn't watch anything with Duo-Audio (refer to older TVB dramas ive downloaded before). Argh argh. I ended up doing literally nothing but sleep. Watched two episodes of Sex and the City but stopped when it got a little bit personal lol Then i got really emo and began binging on icecream and roast pork in the kitchen. Argh argh fail fail fail!!!I didn't want to text or call anyone because i did not want to burden or annoy anyone so i chose to be quiet today. I'm sure though, once those that reads this in the next little bit l'll get an earfull about why i didn't call them.

That said my room is still messy with clothes SHOVED at every corner of my room. I keep on wearing the same thing over and over again because its accessible since its right on my bed. Also the door to my closet is maddd screwed up so i can't even open it properly. I need a wardrobe and gotta stop procrastinating. I'm starting to accumulate so much clothes that im actually starting to forget that i own some stuff and that maybe i should start wearing them again......this is a sign that i need to stop shopping.

I guess its not as baddddd as it seems but i still really hate being disorganized. I also need to get back into the reno project that's been ongoing for a year. sighs.

Bright side though- I made it through the day though as its officially 12am as i type this. *Pat on back*

Yes they do

To dream that you are happy, may be a compensatory dream and is often a dream of the contrary. You may be trying to compensate for the sadness or stress in your waking life.

To see jade in your dream, indicates healing powers, immortality, and truth. Additionally, it also represents growth, shaping and development of your personality

To dream that you are pregnant, symbolizes an aspect of yourself or some aspect of your personal life that is growing and developing. You may not be ready to talk about it or act on it.This may also represent the birth of a new idea, direction, project or goal.

To see someone nursing or dream that you are nursing, suggests that you are nurturing a hidden aspect of yourself.

Props to my sub-conscious yo. and this is why i trust my sub-conscious.

One Down, Many to Go

i actually accomplished something today.

i successfully moved everything from my brothers room into my room. it was sitting there for almost 2 weeks and i started to really feel guilty even though he has not complained once.

but what would have been an hour and a half task turned into a 9 hour task because of all the breaks i had to take in order to hold myself together. i didn't think moving the stuff back would hurt that much.

i also didnt do a very good job in organizing anything because when i said i moved the stuff, i literally just moved it and either just shoved it somewhere, left it on the floor or my bed or my desk.

Nonetheless though i finished the "move" part and was not completely useless today.

Lets all pray...that tonight is another dreamless night unlike my terribly eventful sad dream i had during my nap today.

Good Nights.....I know that it was a tiring day and will be a longer one tmr...

Spring/Summer

(via Source)

Its 17 degrees today, 15 yesterday, 16 degrees for the next two days. Does this mean summer is coming at full speed!?!? (Probably not, flurries are expected next week. LAME.)

But this coming summer im expecting it to be explosive. Or at least i want to try to make it "productive" as much as i can. I'm really gonna try and make this summer count!! I'm starting it off by going to Cayo Coco, Cuba and hope in the middle of the summer head down to Jersey/NYC and possibly something else to end summer!?!?! Don't know yet lol. But the things I want to accomplish this spring/summer:
  • Finish Room Reno
Get the room painted, get the wardrobe in place and new bed sheets at the very least and I'll worry about decor and everything else later
  • Portfolio Site, Twitter & Blog
I really need to get my portfolio site up and going. Its so essential and is my "money" making tool yet I've completely put that last on my to-do list. I MUST get that up and going by June or July at the very latest. I can't enter a new season without being done. That said while I'm at it, give my twitter page and this blog a new look. That's always fun to do lol
  • Business Card
Can't skimp out on this (effort and money). Just tonight a random stranger the mister and i met at Starbucks and was interested in getting our contacts to potentially do contract work for him but it looked so bad because....WE HAD NO BUSINESS CARDS. SIGHSx.
  • Bikini Body
Well not so much a BIKINI bod because that's like impossible for my size but at the very least i really want to slim down and trim my pear-shaped body. I am approximately 8lbs away!!! I just have to keep on gymming 3-4 times a week, hot yoga and eat in moderation and i shall be good!!!
  • Outdoors Paintball with the kids & Outdoor Volleyball with the kids
Major negligence right there. I am guilty of all charges of not setting up something. I'm sorry guys.
  • Movies i need to download *ahem* see
Includes: Clash of the Titans, Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps, Iron Man 2, Robin Hood, Sex& the City 2, Avatar: Last Air Bender, Eclipse and Inception
  • Explore Toronto & the Eats with boyfriend
Cuz we are fattys that wanna be artsy. haha
Okay lets hope i still have a JOB at the end of the summer to support all my plans.

*crosses fingers*

9 Years Old Emma Watson vs. 19 Years Old Emma Watson
    (via Source)

Holyyyyshiet. Talk about growing up and filling in NICELY. Hard to believe its been 11 years since the first Harry Potter movie came out. I AM SO OLD. xxx!!!

Anyways i had quite an enjoyable weekend. I shopped til i dropped and stumbled into a Nail Salon on Saturday with K&J and then spent my evening at SB (my previous post details the fatty evening) and had a super fatty late night dinner at midnight. The mister took my family out for dimsum on Sunday morning and that's always nice because i think my parents really enjoy it. The day flies by with a super-long unplanned nap that goes into the evening and i FINALLY got around to wallpapering my closet doors (thnx u lx). I'm so proud of the way it looooooks. Yays. =]  I'm not loading any pics of it though, until more of my TO-DOs has been completed.

Oh i also got my shots for the trip. Shit who the hell knew it would cost SO MUCH to protect ourselves from Hepatitis???? Argh. Must pay again for Part II of the vaccination in 6 months.

I foreshadow in the near future:
    • More hot yoga sessions pwlease.
    • National Home Show (Scored free passes!) with mister
    • Shutter Island & Alice in Wonderland in 3D yooo
    • Just4fun Fete (aka Graffiti Partay)
    • Longer work-out sessions
    • Twin's Birthday
    • Booking, Confirming & Cuba Trip (I really REALLY hope the girls can come!!!)
    • Busy and long work days

    Back to work!

    im boring

Does anyone else find me boring nowadays?

Anyways, saw these! && wondered why i didnt pursue Fashion Communications.....and why im not rich and pretty. SIGHS.

    Valentino Spring 2010

Emilio Pucci ready-to-wear spring summer 2010

Purdy isnt it? Makes me want to shop (Zara = huge sale = me going crazy) !!!  Suddenly my new favorite store is Zara......on sale. Nonetheless their stuff is stylish but not so Forever21 price range for me lol Maybe its just me but i haven't seen any of Zara's Headband collection in their stores? Or is it just a States (argh no fair) thing? I'm lacking headbands (like how im lacking scarves....).

On another note, I REALLLLLLLLLY need to get a move on my much delayed/procrastinated Room Reno that I declared back in July09 (ish). I mean, even lx is starting up with his and we havnt even finished with mine. Argh argh! Things i NEED to accomplish:
    • Go grab the wardrobe from K!!!!!
    • Wallpaper my closet door
    • Buy fabric for my DIY projects (for the room & K's belated Christmas Present)
    • Patterned Wrapping Paper/Stock to cover bookends
    • Buy: Bookends, file storage, binders, large black stylish storage boxes, large laundry hamper, wooden clothes hangers, bed/bomforter linen
    • Paint Room (the minute its warm enough to keep windows open all night)
I feel like i am repeating this list over and over again with nothing crossed off.

& it is probably the case too. =___=*

Anywaysssss. I'm so so looking forward to the weekend! Like i mentioned before double Winterlicious!! @ Fred's Not Here & Oliver and Bonacinii because we are poor but want relatively decent lunch food. Its just gonna suck a tiny bit because of the super cold wave that's coming this weekend which means i'll have to bundle up and not allowed to look pretty because little bundled up eskimos aren't pretty.

I'm also feeling lucky. Maybe the mister and i should try Avatar IMAX again? haha

    Wednesday, January 13, 2010

Hope you guys didn't have too much trouble finding this

    (via Source )

Avatar the movie has been out playing in theaters for approximately 3 weeks and five days in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D. It's still freaking # 1 at the Box Office internationally and it was officially the 3rd failed attempt that the lx and i couldn't watch it on Tuesday- and that REALLLY pisses us off because we're both big movie-watchers and not being able to see a #1 box office film within the first 2 weeks of its release reallly annoys us.

That said though, we've been only willing to watch it in IMAX 3D and will not even settle for 3D let alone 2D. You might call us picky but like ive blogged about it before, it was made for this technology so why should we settle for less. There's only THREE theatres in the GTA that has IMAX theatres which are Scotiabank (DT), Colossus (Vaughn), Coliseum Mississauga (Sq 1). For us, the Vaughn one is actually the closest and that's been the one that we've been lurking at for the past 3 weeks. Its unbelievable how sold out they are and we are kind of at a bigger disadvantage than everyone else because we can't buy our tickets online due to the fact we have these IMAX certificates and we would actually have to pay extra if we order them online vs. lining up and using them. Its such a bitch. arghhh.

Hope we see it soon, cuz its making us very very angry. AND it better be as great as its hyped up to be.

    Moving on -

The other day on Twitter my cousin used the term "Twin Couple" when she was referring to the mister and i and i thought how appropriately cute that was lol I find her and her mister to be the biggest goofballs and i absolutely adore their company. There is seriously not a dull moment EVER whenever we have our double date and i always feel the love between them even when they are bickering....and lx and i just laugh at them. I'm at that age where a lot of my friends are in relationships (especially in the GCM fam, every girl has a boyfriend!!!) but what i find interesting is that every couple has their own "personal flair" and after endless conversations with K and the cousin, I can almost conclude that there is no "normal" way of being a couple. What I mean by that is not every single relationship needs to go by the unknown textbook of how a "classic" couple is suppose to be and how they're suppose to act. What lx and i may find fun others might find it being ridiculous and vice versa, what others think are "normal", we might find it to be boring. After explaining all that, I find that my relationship with lx is very similar to my cousin's relationship with her boyfriend. We're the type of couple that enjoys bickering and picking on each other ....which lots of people find weird because couples are "suppose" to be nice and polite to each other. YAWNs.

Anyhoo we had a delightful, calories and sugar-filled evening the other night over Poker and Big 2....just like exactly how she blogged about it lol Lets do up a wings night soon! Hearts you both lots.

    Other random thoughts:
    • I've been on Beast Mode for the past 2 weeks and i shall CONTINUE to be on Beast Mode.
    • BEAST MODE is when you are eating healthy, working out, not drinking every night and working hard! (Rob Kardashian)
    • I need to get the cousin to show me how to use the weight machines.
    • Talked to J about this, but i want to get the GCM kids together for a "Chinese New Years" dinner in February (either early Feb before CYN or late Feb after CYN). Probably hotpot and some unknown activity afterwards. Await for the FB event kids!!
    • 2 Winterlicious lunches with the ladies and then one with the boys (back to back!!) because we all can't afford Winterlicious dinners.
    • I'm still hunting for things for my room. Gah. So hard. && just obtained the gorgeous patterned wallpaper from K last night. <333 Can't wait to put it up!!
    • 4th Attempt at Avatar with the mister soon.
    • Much needed trip to BMV. My booklist significantly grew after my last visit to Chapters.
    • I actually have no laptop at the moment. Its under the attack of trojans, worms, hijacks (?!) and viruses soo i havnt turned it on since Sunday. I am on facebook significantly less and being very unproductive in terms of my design work etc. Its starting to annoy me just a tiny bit this little inconvenience............
    • It's a little hard to believe, but i've actually read 7/15 books Nicholas Sparks (aka the author of THE NOTEBOOK) has written. Actually its not THAT hard to believe given that I am the type of person that likes to deliberately watch and read things that makes me cry. I might make it a goal to do 15/15 this year.

I'm starting to sound boring again. I'll stop.

    Room Detox Continuation

If anybody cares enough to remember, during the late summer i began to detox my room and wanted to give it a complete makeover. I gave myself a nice Queen size bed (a huge upgrade from a SINGLE) and rearranged all my furniture around. Then i got REALLY lazy and stopped with my "Debbie Travis on a Budget" Project. Now, thanks to K i am in full reno mode again lol
Color Palette I am aiming for

    Cute?

The walls are probably going to be Tin Pail or Prune and/or a mixture of the two depending on my mood in the Spring. Right now my aim for Boxing day & before the New Years is to find the cheapest deals on pretty storage boxes and bedsheets to bring my room into a less cluttered-state (thus the boxes. Shove all my crap in one place and consider it neat) and bring my room a step closer to the color palette (thus the bedsheets). Re-organize all my clothes with the wardrobe piece that i will be inheriting from K (TTHNXLUV!), get that piece of furniture to fit in my room by re-arranging my furniture again (the mister and my brother is going to be so angry with me), do something about all my bags that currently has a home on my floor, put up the curtains the mister got me from oh-so-long ago and getting my dad to create some shelf space for me!

Yays yays im excited once again!

    Before i forget.

(via Source) (I want my hair long like the girl in the pic AND her sweater giggle)

Shopping list for myself! Need to look for cheap yet a stylish:
    • Jewellery Stand/Holder or specifically something to hold my necklaces (Necklaces flying everywhere and getting tangled)
    • Bedsheets (Mini yellow and purple roses against pale green is not cool)
    • Scarf Box
    • Recycle Bin/Basket
    • Large Clothes Box (for my stay @ home clothes & PJs)
    • Mittens (refuse to buy any over 5 bucks....even though my TNA ones are losing its warmth strength. Dont buy TNA mittens. They dont keep u warm.)
    • Large Hot Rollers  (im in no rush for this but keeping an eye for a set that are discounted and is sooo cheap its like one of those i-get-lucky type of cheap......but not cheap in quality kind of product)
Amongst other things i don't remember but i should because it'll come in handy seeing everything is currently on sale. Oh right, like this hat i saw Taylor Momsen (Jenny Humphrey) wore on Gossip Girl. AND winter jacket shopping very soon! Before it hits zero degrees.... tho that seems so unlikely because it is currently freaking nine degrees outside. Madness. Looks like TNA parka here I come? I need peoples opinions and testimonials on those Tatula and Community jackets. I'm looking for something fitted, yet warm! Most importantly WARM. I'm getting old and i can't stand the cold.

I wonder if Karyn is able to get me dirt cheap uggs from Vegas. When i mean dirt cheap, I mean under 80 bucks. heh. Sorry cousin and mister, im giving in. I will take those beats from u guys when i see u. xD Then again, the chances of her finding them for THATT cheap, in MY size, in THAT style (heard they discontinued making the Classic Mini's) and in the color (Chocolate) I want are probably pretty slim and at zero. If that is the case it would simply mean it wasn't meant to be!
    Shopping, shopping. A girls death.
PS. Ninja Assassin was quite good. Big Ups to Rain for his role. lol

    Long Weekend in Short

i have a sudden blogging urge which i wish to satisfy before i head to bed.

All weekend long ive been working non-stop to get Project-Debbie-travis-on-a-budget on its way. As seen on my fb all weekend long, ive been uploading pics of the current progress of my big room reno project.

Its like 5% percent complete. =_____=''

I didnt get to go out AT ALL this entire weekend because ive been stuck in my room, cleaning, moving, trashing, organizing everything. It was such a beautiful weekend, and it was such a waste because as i was doing all this, i worked through a huge spiking headache. The only time i WAS able to go out this weekend was to go to ikea to grab my bed....ummm.....an hour at Goldhawk Park to watch lx and my brother play bball and a late evening run to walmart. All in all was probably only a good 3 hours spent outside the house? Booooooo. && tmr is dedicated to bbq-ing with the GCM kids...in my backyard.

Terrific, more time spent at home lol.

Perhaps i should make the best out of my time when i head over to J.Chan tmr for tennis (viewing) since i don't know how to play tennis.

Anyways i am probably going to blog about my COMPLETED room once its actually completed, with pictures of its transition from pure mix-matching oldschool ugliness to hopefully a Charming and bold look. id say give it until January 2010 haha

    Stay tuned.
PS. i owe the mister and my bro BIG TIME, for helping me all weekend with all the furniture moving. I was (as predicted), completely useless and could not move a single thing (b/c of my spiking headache that lasted all weekend & my sore body from bodycombat&jam on Thursday). Heart heart to both!

    More to Love

There's a new reality series by FOX called More to Love and basically is "The Bachelor", but for PLUS SIZE people. Meaning the bachelor himself is a plus-size man, and all the single ladies are plus-size babes.

At first i thought it was really cute. In my mind i thought, "AW. Fat people can find love too"...and that's always been my philosophy seeing i have been chubby/fat/oh-so-heavy all my life. Its only been about 2 yrs or so that ive finally been lesser on the fat side, but leaning very much into the THICK/MEATY side of things. Anyways, because i've always been on that side of the fence- i know how it feels to have guys not look twice at you, creating mountains of insecurities resulting in believing that "fat girls can never find love let alone a date.". So after seeing this show being promoted, i was extremely "FOR" this show until i noticed two things that made me feel a lil offended.

    1. The show is portraying the message that: plus size girls want a plus size guy.
Ah, totally UNTRUE. This misconception always comes up because ppl assume if your partner is overweight like you are, you have something in common. No hahah. That is completely false. They totally showed this by choosing a MEATY/PLUS Bachelor and of course, all the woman are equally/or bigger than him. Giving off the message that love can only found between two big people is just plain ass stupid. They should cast a less meaty bachelor, it would make things more REALISTIC. I dont understand why they cant cast a less meaty guy. I mean opposites DO attract haha True it may be pretty hard to find a guy like that out there but I KNOW HE EXISTS. Look at the mister. He's PRIME EXAMPLE. muah ah ah ah.

    2. The show is about "real, normal" woman
That's really offending to a lot of fit/skinny girls out there because the producers are basically saying they arent normal lol I dont think they should say that this show features "real" woman, but rather focus it in a light where they arent bashing skinny pretty girls and focus more on the fact that these meaty girls can be just as fun as any size girl. haha unless America considers being big, than obviously i have no say on that haha

A quote directly from a forum debate on this:

"While it may be difficult for many people to believe, the average size woman in the US is a 14. Until size 0 and negative 2 size women started being praised in the media, that was normal. It still is normal. Being a size 14 does not mean unhealthy. IT'S NORMAL. We've just been bombarded with unrealistic and unsustainable photoshopped pictures for so long that we forget, IT'S NORMAL! Size 14 is not fat. Can I say it again? It's normal! And btw, anyone who resorts to name calling just shows that they are not intelligent enough to debate with facts."

I cannot have said it better myself.

--- Contradicting myself now, i am still going to watch it despite its sending the wrong message. lolol

Also on the subject of weight issues, i recently joined Goodlife Fitness because i felt myself getting big again and im really sick of that pear-shaped body i have ( i blogged about a couple of weeks) and i really should do something about it instead of always complaining how fat i am to LX. On top of that, my cousin really motivated me to join so i gotta give her lots of credit for that.

So far ive been really good, i go three times a week (b/c thats all that my membership permits me), two of those days i attend classes back to back (Body Pump, a class that involves cardio&strength training, Body Combat, a class that mixes cardio with karate&boxing and Body Jam, cardio&dancing) and on Sundays if i dont make it early enough for one of the Strength Training class, i'm going to do my own strength training in the weights section with all the intimidating boys. Shocking isnt it seeing ive never done any weights/strength training yet i am willing to go join the strange sweaty boys.

The things i will do to ditch this pear-shaped body! Hopefully it pays off. Normally people would try to lose weight to have a "beach" bod for the summer, but seeing that we dont really have a summer *sad face*, l'll just work towards a refined birthday body!

Wish me good luck.................its going to be mad hard cuz i still love (bad) food.

Anyways this weekend is full mode, Project Debbie Travis on a Budget! Will explain and show that later. Sadly though, Operation Special Project will be on hold........for quite some time.

    outs.

    I Hate Computers

i reformatted my laptop last night, and i THOUGHT things are going to be better and much smoother after the reformat.

    Sighs.

    its not.
    • Random windows alerts pops up
    • my MSN doesnt run b/c of some prevention script. Not that it matters b/c i dont go on MSN (THAT MUCH) anymore but the fact that it doesnt even run bothers me.
    • The resolution of the screen keeps on changing back and forth periodically and spontaneously when i least expect it
    • No Adobe Creative Suite : ((((
    • Transition between windows seems kind of slow
The only great thing that came out of all this, is i now have Microsoft Outlook (Thank U Stanley) and it actually worksssssss. Now i am obsessed with syncing my life with it.

But with all the CONS in place, I'm REALLY considering a new laptop (maybe a nice monster size, 16"-17") on top of the many things i wish to purchase aka finance for a year. For example i am in the middle of planning to redo & rearrange my room. The project is going to be like a year long because i cant afford to buy everything at once (i.e. a new bed, new sheets, filing cabinet, etc.) and i still need to throw out/donate/store/sell a gazillion things in my room. After that's done, i can then begin to buy furniture and couple of other things, put up the curtains the mister got me and do some crazy moving after i pay all my crazy bills.

    Sighs.

This has not been a good weekend at all. Weather is shitty, computer acting up. && it just started to rain as i begin to pack for the gym.

    Double sighs.
